- Two focused hours in the morning on the hardest subject
- Read NCERT at least twice, add one trusted reference book per subject
- Solve 10 to 15 full sample papers in timed conditions
- Finish the syllabus by October and revise from November
A roundup of recent CBSE Class 12 toppers, including a 499 out of 500 scorer, finds that they study about four to five focused hours a day instead of marathon sessions, with mornings for hard subjects and afternoons for practice and revision.
Sleep of seven hours or more stays non-negotiable. The usual resources are NCERT textbooks read at least twice and one trusted reference book per subject.
In the final phase they solve three to five sample papers a week, analyse each mistake carefully and aim to finish the syllabus by October so that November to January is for revision.
