- Move to a new topic only after your doubts on the current one are cleared
- Remove your mistakes instead of just re-reading what you already know
- Use the coaching material properly and finish the assigned work
- Stay happy and calm; he played outdoors with neighbourhood children to unwind
Rajit Gupta, the All India Rank 1 of JEE Advanced 2025, says he never followed a strict study schedule because a fixed timetable only added pressure. He studied when he felt motivated but made sure every session was of good quality.
His rule was simple: finish a topic completely, with all doubts resolved, before starting the next. He believed a foundation becomes strong by removing errors, not by repeating the same material again and again.
After JEE Main he tried not to repeat earlier mistakes and avoided checking answer keys straight after the paper. His message to aspirants is to be clear about what you want, because then the way to get there is easier to find.
