Key takeaways
  • Aim for 6 to 8 hours of quality study in Class 11, more in Class 12
  • Learn concepts first; do not memorise
  • Solve at least the last 10 years of question papers
  • In the exam, do the familiar questions first and skip the time-eaters

Pranav Goyal studied about 6 to 8 hours a day in Class 11 and stretched to as much as 12 to 14 hours in Class 12, but he insists that quality counts more than quantity.

For books he used HC Verma and BM Sharma for Physics, NCERT with a few reference books for Chemistry, and SL Loney and RD Sharma for Mathematics. He used visual aids and graphic tools to understand figures, and practised many hard problems.

He solved at least ten years of past papers to learn the pattern and manage time. In the paper he began with questions he knew and left tough ones for later. He says coaching helped but is not compulsory, and that every student should build a personal study pattern.
